Seattle Candlelight Concerts
CANDLELIGHT CONCERTS, Seattle's newest chamber music series, will include three spring candlelight performances with some of the Northwest's prominent soloists on three Sunday evenings at University Christian Church.
Dedicated to George Shangrow, this inaugural series on Sunday Evenings at 7:30 in the University District continues a tradition which George initiated with a three-concert series last June and countless past Candlelight Evenings of Baroque Music and Encore Summer Series' with flutist Jeffrey Cohan. Chamber music both familiar and unusual is to be performed by some of the Northwest's finest musicians and friends of Maestro Shangrow's.

THE ROMANTIC GUITAR features virtuoso chamber music from the early Romantic period through the present for guitar, flute, violin and viola with Michael Partington (guitar), Jeffrey Cohan (flute), Ronald Patterson (violin) and Roxanna Patterson (viola).
The program will include the Romanian Dances for violin and guitar by Bela Bartok, Noturno, Op. 21 for flute, viola and guitar by Wenzel Thomas Matiegka, Suite Pogledi (Views) for flute and guitar by Slovenia composer Aleš Strajnar, and Potpourri en Quatuor for guitar, flute, violin and viola, Opus 155 by Joseph Küffner.

CANDLELIGHT BAROQUE presents 18th-century concerti and chamber music with the chamber orchestra Sans Souci, which includes Jeffrey Cohan (flute), Ronald Patterson (violin), Roxanna Patterson (viola), Stephen Provine (violin), Douglas Davis (cello) and Lisa Michele Lewis (harpsichord).
This candlelight performance will include concerti for flute and strings by Carl Philipp Emmanuel Bach and Johann Joachim Quantz, Vivaldi's Spring from The Seasons for violin and strings, the Sonata for flute and violin by CPE Bach and a cello sonata by Francesco Geminiani.

MOZART, HAYDN & SCHUBERT will include four great works by masters of the classical style with Mark Salman (piano), Jeffrey Cohan (flute), Ronald Patterson (violin), Roxanna Patterson (viola) and Douglas Davis (cello).
The performance will include the Mozart Duo in G Major for violin and viola, a Trio by Joseph Haydn for violin, viola and cello, Schubert's Variations on Trockne Blumen for flute and piano, and Carl Maria von Weber's Trio for flute, cello and piano.
