Admission is free, though donations are welcomed. All proceeds support the company pay expenses such as renting rehearsal and performance spaces.

Founded in 1988, Kathy Mata Ballet is one of few dance companies in the U.S. to provide talented adults from non-dance professions with opportunities to train and perform, rehearsing several times a week, on top of their regular work days. The company has an emphasis on community service and regularly performs at senior centers and other community organizations across the Bay Area/San Francisco. Their performances (free of charge or by donation) benefit local charities.
