The Heritage Chorale is an auditioned SATB chorus. We perform inspired choral music in Boston's MetroWest region with around 100 singers from more than 30 communities.
Heritage Chorale is conducted by renowned Boston-area music director, John Finney, who is the Director of the Boston College Concert Choir and former concertmaster of the Handel & Haydn Society.
In continuous existence since 1937, we enjoy coming together to perform diverse choral works from across the centuries, from the Renaissance to Eric Whitacre. We are committed to high-quality performances, fun and challenging rehearsals, education, and collaboration to enrich the lives of singers, audiences, and communities.
Our season typically includes three concerts: two classical and one Pops. Classical concerts feature professional orchestra and soloists in the performance of a wide range of choral music. Our Pops concert features lighter music with a more relaxed atmosphere, often featuring our talented accompanist Darryl Hollister.
The Heritage Chorale occasionally goes on tour, most recently to Ireland.
We offer a scholarship membership for high school and college singers, with admission based on auditions and the proper balance of voice parts. Accepted scholars will have dues waived, and the cost of our standard concert dress deferred.
The chorale rehearses every Tuesday evening, September through mid-May, at Scott Hall, First Parish Church, 24 Vernon Street in Framingham. Come and try us out during our open rehearsals (see our website for details).
