UPside Dance Company is a fresh example of high caliber cultural enrichment in Northern California. Directed by Sonoma County natives Kate Ahumada and Tanya Tolmasoff, UPside has become known for bringing contemporary dance to unconventional spaces. In addition to teaching, UPside creates innovative and quality dance work. In 2013, being their debut year, they have presented five new performances, including %u2018Dias%u2019, 'Frolic', '(un)tied', %u2018Warriors at Home%u2019 and 'Supernatural Soiree'.
They teach in Sonoma County and are proud of their diverse range of students, spanning ages 6 to 65. UPside%u2019s Modern Dance provides a much needed opportunity for physical exercise, a sense of community, and joy. UPside Co-directors donate their time to art outreach programs at The Healdsburg School, West Side School, Windsor High School, and Santa Rosa Junior College.
The lovely Kate Ahumada and Tanya Tolmasoff, co-directors of UPSide Dance Company, have danced internationally in professional performance groups throughout California, Colorado, New York City, London, and St. Petersburg, Russia. Bringing their beaming optimism back to their roots in Sonoma County, the dynamic duo wishes to share their love and knowledge of dance movement, health, and wellness to their hometown and Northern California.
