Hard-hitting, heart-warming, full-bodied musical experiences. KOEK is the Dutch word for "cake" and is pronounced as "cook". The duo features soprano Aliana de la Guardia and saxophonist Kent O%u2019Doherty, and emerged from their mutual desire to further their personal artistic disciplines and to create an enveloping concert experience together. They were inspired to start the duo from the influence of the beautiful and audacious music and theatre that has been present in their lives as members of Guerilla Opera, and from their mutual love of other creative art forms. Their programs will experiment with, deepen and extend the concert experience by engaging all the senses; visual, aural, and even smell and taste at times.
