Wasakaka All-Stars is a dynamic independent Latin music project that emerged in Vancouver, BC, in 2016. Our ensemble comprises highly skilled musicians from Latin America and Canada, united by a shared passion for delivering top-tier music and entertainment to the Canadian audience.
Our mission is clear: we aim to bring the most authentic Latin rhythms to life, reimagining timeless classics of traditional Salsa music. Furthermore, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting Latin American culture within the vibrant and ever-growing Vancouver scene.
Each ensemble member boasts an impressive blend of extensive music performance experience and a solid foundation in academic music education. Our collective expertise spans a broad spectrum, encompassing event hosting, entertainment, orchestral coordination, sound engineering, and professional stage management. Since the inception of the "Wasakaka All-Stars" project, we have garnered significant interest from various sponsors who recognize and support our musical endeavours.
Our journey has taken us to numerous festivals, including the Richmond World Festival (2018, 2019), Surrey Latin Festival (2018), and Carnaval del Sol (2018, 2019, 2021). We've collaborated with the renowned Salsa artist and two-time Latin Grammy Nominee, "Maelo Ruiz" on two occasions (2018-2023).
In addition to our festival appearances, we have performed in over 60 live music shows over the past four years, showcasing our versatility across multiple formats, including the grand Wasakaka Concert (Full-Orchestra), the energetic Wasakaka Combo, the versatile Wasakaka Standard, and the intimate Wasakaka Light.
As a result of our dedication and artistry, our project has become a fixture in the Vancouver and BC music scene, earning recognition as an essential component in uniting dancers, spectators, and performers throughout recent years.
