Our Mission
We are a collaborative ensemble of actors, musicians and dancers who work together to create and perform new, experimental lyric theater.
In addition to championing and commissioning new work, we remount classics with an innovative contemporary lens.
About CUBE
CUBE has been bringing live music performance to Chicago audiences for over 25 years. Founded in 1987 as a contemporary chamber ensemble by Patricia and Philip Morehead, CUBE heads into 2014 growing from its deep musical roots and expanding into a full ensemble of collaborative and interdisciplinary artists. This growth is spearheaded by CUBE's talented new Artistic and Executive Directors, Hope Littwin and Kroydell Galima.
Within its varied and imaginative programs, the CUBE Ensemble explores music, theatre, and dance from around the world -- as well as local works from Chicago's estimable arts community. We are a collaborative ensemble of young, innovative musicians, actors, and dancers who work together on three dimensional performances, championing and commissioning new work and remounting classics with an innovative contemporary lens.
CUBE's programs are supported in part by grants and sponsorships from the Lester & Hope Abelson Fund for the Performing Arts at The Chicago Community Trust, the Illinois Arts Council, a CityArts Program I Grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs, the Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago, and High Concept Laboratories, an arts service organization in Chicago.
