Unite to Face Addiction Michigan (UFAM) a non-profit organization, is organizing the 8th Annual 2019 RECOVERY LIVE TOUR December 10th 14th, 2019. The tour presents four National Recovery Advocates & Artists, representing a unique and diverse background of addiction prevention and recovery messaging, which will take part in more than 15 performances over the five-day residency tour. This years evening performances are scheduled to be anchored in Grand Rapids (Kent County), Kalamazoo (Kalamazoo County), Lansing (Ingham County), Flint (Genesee County), and Pinckney (Livingston County). The daytime performances include High Schools, Treatment Centers, Juvenile Centers, County Jails, State Prisons, and Recovery Community Organizations in these communities.
These exciting and groundbreaking events are geared to work in collaboration with many diverse community stakeholders, to provide and support drug and alcohol addiction prevention, treatment, and recovery initiatives. The focus is to address the stigma associated with the prevention message as well as lower the barriers of those contemplating treatment and to support our recovery communities throughout the engaging 5-day program.
Over the past 8 years we have provided programming to 15 counties throughout Michigan; working to build strong and lasting relationships throughout the state. It is our hope that we will continue to develop strong support, to provide this unique program for all regions of Michigan. In the coming years we will continue to establish the RECOVERY LIVE TOUR as the premier event for Substance Abuse Awareness in the state of Michigan. This year we have been recognized by a nationally acclaimed film crew- who filmed the impactful recovery movies The Anonymous People and Generation Found. They will be documenting Mark Lundholm, and the entire tour as we visit Michigan communities carrying the message of Hope.
This year it is UFAMs hope to engage as many, if not all, of Michigans 10 Regional PIHP agencies in supporting this statewide initiative which also includes UFAMs Annual Michigan State Capitol Rally held every 3rd Thursday of May. We continue to cultivate the collaborative spirit of the many statewide agencies, prevention, treatment, recovery, and advocacy groups working to address the many systemic aspects of Addiction and Recovery today. We look forward to providing the Recovery Live Residency Tour, to highlight these collaborative relationships and the many resources available during these amazing 5 days of engaging events that will leave participants wanting more, and to support the many community initiatives addressing Addiction Prevention, Treatment, Recovery, and Advocacy.
