The Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra is truly a cultural gem of the western suburbs. We bring exhilarating performances right to the heart of the local community, and this year the theme of our season is Music of the Soul. Every concert has something for everyone. World-class music, from familiar favorites to exciting pieces you may not have met before. Our highly professional players are extremely talented and are led by our outstanding conductor, Stephen Alltop. His talent was recognized as Conductor of the Year in 2012 by the Illinois Council of Orchestras, and his engaging music selections were awarded Programming of the Year in 2010.
As well as the ESO, every concert features spectacular collaborations with a wealth of guest performers and groups, helping us bring you a wonderfully diverse repertoire, and giving you the chance to see up-and-coming soloists and ensembles.
Whether you are a first-time concert-goer or a classical music connoisseur, our enthralling and informative multi-media support at most performances will enhance your appreciation and understanding of the music. And if you would like to explore the music in more depth, there is a lively, free concert preview lecture right before each performance.
You don't have to trek downtown to be carried away by the music. So don't miss out - join us at our next concert to be part of a magical musical experience.
