Live art. Collison. Hyperlocal. Supernow.
Fierce Festival is an annual festival of international performance, shaped by Birmingham. Fierce is a live art festival and by live art we mean stuff that needs an audience to make it happen. We%u2019re interested in liveness as it emerges from many artforms: architecture, theatre, music, performance art, sound art, installation, audio tours, guerilla interventions, online and interactive artwork.
This year%u2019s Fierce Festival runs from 22nd %u2013 27th March 2011 in sites and spaces all over Birmingham. We work in partnership with organisations all over the city %u2013 in both found and more formal spaces.
The 2011 edition is the first since the appointment of Fierce Festival%u2019s new Joint Artistic Directors Laura McDermott and Harun Morrison, who follow in the footsteps of Mark Ball, Fierce Festival%u2019s founder. True to Fierce tradition the festival is packed with a mix of large-scale spectacular projects, edgy performances and wild parties.
