The mission of the Connecticut Childrens Museum is to provide young children, their families and teachers, with an arts and literacy-based, multiple intelligences-inspired, magical place, rich in resources and rooted in the community.
The Connecticut Childrens Museum serves a diverse group of families that is reflective of the region has welcomed over 240,000 visitors since reopening in 2001. 70% of its 21,000 annual visitors are from New Haven, 20% from surrounding towns with the remaining 10% of our visitors from out-of-state. It is an important strand in the tapestry of the downtown revitalization efforts, drawing thousands of families with young children into New Haven, and serving hundreds of early childhood education programs, annually.
