eSe Teatro: Seattle Latinos Take Stage
eSe Teatro is a collective of professionally trained theatre artists residing in the greater Seattle area.
We are an open collective actively working to promote diversity in the Seattle art scene, build bridges with under-served populations in our community thru art, and provide a sense of home and place for other Latino theatre artists.
eSe Teatro employs Latino and Spanish-speaking actors, directors and writers who have traditionally been marginalized in mainstream theatre. Lack of artistic opportunities and exposure are the main reasons so many Latino theatre artists leave our area, propagating a poverty of expression and experience in the arts scene.
eSe Teatro is designed to give Latino theatre artists a space for self-expression, be it a physical space, a space for peer evaluation and support, a space for creativity and development, a space for dialogue with Latino communities or simply a space to have our work honored and validated.
