Sotto Voce Vocal Collective is a performing vocal ensemble which aims to promote awareness of both the capabilities of the human voice and the diversity of composers living today. The members of the group have a variety of training and performance experience - including classical vocal study and work with other well-known new music ensembles - and bring passion about "living music" to their interpretations. The groups aesthetic interest is in works which are both inspired by traditional approaches to the voice and present the voice in experimental formal contexts, which celebrate the organic, delicate, and ineffable. The group aims to perform works primarily by under-represented living composers.
