Just So Festival CICUnited Kingdom
Just So Festival CIC is a community interest company (not for profit). The four principle aims of the festival are:
- To embed the arts in a natural landscape, a wild, woodland space covering 65 acres. To take the arts out of their formal, indoor and sometimes intimidating setting and give children the freedom to engage freely with no pressure to sit down, keep quiet or stay still.
- To challenge expectations of the arts, by allowing engagement that is spontaneous and impulsive. We believe in allowing young peoples response to art, music and literature to be immediate and unencumbered by the paraphernalia surrounding engagement in formal settings such as galleries and concert halls.
- To offer an intense experience for families. For a weekend they will be fully immersed in an artistic landscape, they will live within an environment designed to surprise and inspire at every turn and behind every tree. We are aware of the power of the arts to communicate and believe this will have a lasting impact. We believe that participating in the arts together, and over a weekend will be an intense and involving experience for families, and will have a lasting impact on how they engage in the arts as a family.
- To encourage a legacy of active participation in the audience, to show them how spectacular an event, performance, artwork can be when they become involved in it and work alongside performers, artists and musicians.
