The Playground Theater

Chicago, IL

The Playground Theater is an artist-led comedy theater. Our mission is to provide a home for comedians to grow as performers, writers, directors and producers. We are committed to entertaining audiences with successful shows that reflect our core values: fun, freedom, and opportunity. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Founded in 1997, the theater is home to 12 improv house ensembles and welcomes guest ensembles from across Chicago and around the world.

With shows 7 night a week, The Playground is a great place to get your night started right with friends and a laugh.
