to the greater American population. It strives hard to bring the awareness of pure performing art forms from ancient India. The inspiration for us comes from an enormous knowledge which our ancestors left us, which they created through their own research and experience. This may be a well balanced classical dance form such as Bharathanatyam or Kathak OR a perfectly planned music such as Carnatic music or Hindustani music. Our main goal is give an opportunity to everyone to learn, enjoy and appreciate the beauty of Indian Performing Art forms, which we consider %u201CSacred%u201D because of its own elevation to divinity.
Soorya Performing Arts evolved under the guidance of Guru Prasanna Kasthuri, a highly sought after Dance Guru in USA and India. It has provided an artistic leadership in the greater St. Louis metro area through its achievements. With the help of its volunteer board members, community members, students and Parents, it has presented many unique dance productions, music concerts and theater festivals in the past 8 years. It has invited legendary performers such as Pundit Birju Maharaj, Grammy awardee Vishwamohan Bhat, Dhananjayans, Adyar K Lakshman, Shila Mehta, Nagamani Srinath and more than 80 artists from India; more than 300 artists from USA. It envisions a greater role in the performing art field of Greater St. Louis area with the support of many equal minded personalities. Its performing unit is par excellence.
