Performance Lab 115United States
Performance Lab 115 is an experimental theater ensemble dedicated to an exploration of the depth and fragility of human connection. Formed in 2005 we share a common physical vocabulary, a rigorous work ethic and a wide-eyed curiosity about the possibilities of theatrical experience. We are dedicated to the primacy of the ensemble and approach all of our projects as a collaborative team of imaginative individuals, each with an equal voice in the process and an equal stake in the product. Since its founding, PL115 has produced six full-length productions and 3 multimedia projects. Productions include Gods Waiting Room (FringeNYC 2005 @ PS122, Awarded Best Play), Dead Letter Office (chashama, NEA Performance Development Award, HERE Arts Center, Supported Artist Grant), A Small Hole (FringeNYC 2006 @ DNA, Awarded Best Set), and Mourn The Living Hector (FringeNYC 2008, Awarded Best Playwright). In 2006 we toured two new plays to the Merlin International Theatre in Budapest, Hungary. In 2009 we are producing "Artifacts of Consequence" by Ashlin Halfnight, premiering at the Wild Project, and Bertolt Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle, originally workshopped through the 2008 Mabou Mines Residency. It will be presented by the Chocolate Factory in Long Island City in May-June 2009.
