Seattle stringband Pickled Okra is Todd Gray on mandolin, Paisley Gray on upright bass (and jokes) and Tony Markey on banjo
The band%u2019s sound was born out of Todd and Paisley%u2019s mutual love for stories and music from eras past. Paisley%u2019s singing is full of raw emotion and when blended with Todd%u2019s soulful vocals forms an undeniably %u201Cold school%u201D bluegrass sound. All three players know their bluegrass licks and aren%u2019t afraid to show them off. Their music is full of ideas borrowed from old time fiddle tunes, jazzy delta blues, and classic old school bluegrass. Combine those ideas with their pop, rock, reggae and funk steeped upbringing and you get a sound that is both timeless and modern.
