Acoustic Music Centre @ St Bride's

Since 2005, Acoustic Music Centre @ St Bride's (aka AMC @ St Bride's) has become the 'go to' Edinburgh Festival Fringe venue for audiences looking for good acoustic, roots, folk, Celtic music. We estimate that something like 70%-75% of that kind of music being presented annually on the Fringe will be happening in St Bride's.  And that's just part of the AMC's entertainment programme each August.

St Bride's Centre is at 10 Orwell Terrace, Edinburgh EH11 2DZ (tel: 0131-346 1405), off Dalry Road a few minutes' walk from the Haymarket rail station/road junction, a major intersection about half-a-mile (0.8 km) from the west end of Princes Street on the western edge of central Edinburgh.  St Bride's is a mere 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the Fringe Office. Since the mid-1970's St Bride's, which is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council, has become a very well-established Edinburgh venue. Its main job is to provide various services to the local area of Gorgie/Dalry and in doing so is an important contributor to the lives of many in the local community. Over the years St Bride's has become a popular venue for all kinds of performances and its provision for this has improved accordingly. It is probably one of the best equipped, small, city centre venues.

The building is a late 19th /early 20th century church built in traditional Gothic style with a high vaulted roof space. There have been modifications over the years of course but the basic heart of the church - the chancel and knave - is relatively unaltered and now forms an impressive performance space.
