Capital District Jazz, Ltd. (CDJ) a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization formed by practitioners and fans who love jazz music. American in origin, jazz reaches and draws from millions of performers and listeners around the globe who are inspired by its rich history, excited by its technical complexity, and moved by its emotional depth. The members of CDJ want to share their love of jazz with current and potential performers and enthusiasts throughout the "Capital District". CDJ's mission is to build and serve a wider audience for jazz through education; to create performance opportunities for jazz musicians; and to develop venues for these pursuits.
Capital District Jazz proudly presents its concert series called Jazz at the Spring on the last Thursday of each month In Saratoga Springs, NY. There are several things unique about this series beginning first and foremost with the people behind organizing it. This is a grass roots organization of local jazz musicians and aficionados working to promote and stimulate jazz in our communities through performances, education and venue development. We are entirely self-directed, independent and free spirited, and we will curate and present the finest in regional jazz talent by working directly with our jazz musician friends and colleagues. Our vision is to offer the public the "house concert" experience of creative improvised music in the most immediate possible setting; up-close and personal. We are fortunate to have access to the Spring St. Gallery, and the wonderful acoustics of their intimate 50 seat listening room. Come hear a pin drop!
