Hex Ed. with Rhea Wolf
Many practitioners of witchcraft today declare an abstinence-only based approach to hexing and binding. Often, ethical arguments are cited as the reasons for this, along with the "Wiccan Rede." But what are the circumstances in which hexing and binding are the only ethical options? And what does racism and white privilege have to do with all of this?
This class with be part lecture, providing a brief history of hexing, and part discussion on ethics, guidelines, and possible methods for conducting your own research into hexing, binding, and protection spells with bite. We will end our time crafting an individual protection spell.
Rhea is a witch, writer, and astrologer with white and cisgender privilege living on Chinook and Kalapuya land. She has decades of experience practicing witchcraft as a solitary and community witch, focusing on work with the ancestors, land spirits, and mythology. She has facilitated pagan groups in a womens prison for over six years and created numerous political spell workings in a variety of circumstances.
