Event
Dunoon Folk Club (11/05/25)
The second Sunday of the month.
The evening will consist of up to 3 acts per show, with a wide range of folk music (E.G Scottish, Irish, American etc), Storytelling or Poetry (sometimes combined with Music). All acts will be announced a month prior.
Hosted by Will Goan, who is a folk musician in his own right. Playing locally with the ceilidh band 'Mac-Talla' along with other bands such as OverFall.
Folk clubs previously would have been a place of gathering for a community, and a place to hear new acts and immerse yourself in our traditions. However, these sorts of folk clubs are becoming fewer and further between. It is the aim of Dunoon Folk club to preserve and maintain this core part of our tradition.
Dunoon folk club was founded with musicians in mind; therefore, we make sure to always pay musicians performing at or above the recommended wage as stated by the Musicians Union. Your support through attendance and donations help to keep delivering evenings of folk music and potentially more without sacrificing this core ideal.
We have a limited number of Pay-What-You-Can Tickets, called community tickets, which are available for those who are unemployed/on a low income. Folk music and tradition should not be exclusive to only those who can afford it. It is important to us that it remains accessable to anyone so please do e-mail or get in touch if the community tickets have sold out before the event has. We cannot garuntee but we will try our best to make sure everyone can attend. Through you kind support and donations we hope to offer more community tickets in future.
