Roger McVey
Critics have hailed pianist Roger McVey for his passionate artistry and electrifying virtuosity. Audiences are wowed by his energetic and deeply felt interpretations.
McVey has performed as a soloist and with orchestras and chamber ensembles across the world. Hes won prizes in multiple competitions, including the International Beethoven Competition.
McVey connects with audiences through his wide-ranging interests, musical and beyond. Hes an avid fan of rock music, jazz, and hip-hop, and he regularly collaborates with contemporary American composers. His other interests include cooking, playing chess, surfing, snowboarding, and learning to play the guitar.
McVey is an associate professor of piano at the Lionel Hampton School of Music at the University of Idaho. He is passionate about teaching and receives great satisfaction from sharing his knowledge and expertise, continually growing from that exchange.
Teaching stimulates McVeys own learning and continued development as a musician, a passion that comes through in his performances.
