Join us at the 2025 Cabin Fever, our 15th annual gardening symposium sponsored by the Master Gardener Foundation of Spokane County. This live and virtual event will start on Saturday, March 8, 1 PM PST, with a live video presentation by our Speaker, Dr Doug Tallamy. Dr Tallamy will talk about the Next Steps for Nature: 500 questions (and answers) for how to save nature in our yard.
For those of you who have yet to discover Doug Tallamy, he is an entomologist from the University of Delaware and author of several books exploring the role of insects in the environment and their interaction (especially caterpillars) with favorite plants. He also promotes the Home-Grown National Park movement whose goal is to rebuild the insect, bird, and animal populations by providing native plants for their food and habitat.
The video presentation will be shown at the Extension Building and via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. We would like to have round table discussions afterwards both in person and on Zoom. The goal for Cabin Fever this year is not only education, but also building community. And what builds community more than talking plants with like-minded individuals?
The recording of Dr Tallamy's presentation will be available for 30 days following his presentation.
