Description: Known in Tibetan as Gönpo Yizhin Norbu (Wish-fulfilling Gem Protector), the six-armed White Mahakala in Chenrezi, the Buddha of Compassion and Sakya Monastery's main meditation deity, in the form of a Dharma Protector for granting wealth. The puja of White Mahakala is held at Sakya Monastery every month to remove material and spiritual poverty and obstacles, and to bestow abundance and protection for the ultimate welfare of all beings. Receiving the initiation is vital to fully participate in the monthly puja at Sakya Monastery and to be able to practice the sadhana individually. We are very fortunate that our Head Lama, H.E. Khöndung Avikrita Vajra Rinpoche, will bestow the initiation of White Mahakala that came into the Sakya tradition from the Shangpa lineage, and lead a group practice dedicated to world healing, peace and prosperity.
