Technology and culture writer Kevin Smokler goes back to Hill Valley, the town of Shermer, Astoria's Goondocks, and Lake Lure, North Carolina, with Stanford's Adam Tobin. Join Smokler and Tobin for an evening discussing all of your favorite 1980s Brat Pack films.
In Brat Pack America, Smokler has scoured the country interviewing actors, writers, and directors from one of the most iconic eras in film. He went to Goonies day in Astoria, OR, and took a Lost Boys tour of Santa Cruz, CA. Miss the 80s? Have no fear, Smokler's report is that Brat Pack America is alive and well.
Adam Tobin is a screenwriter and television writer. Tobin created the half-hour comedy series About a Girl and the reality series Best Friend's Date for Viacom's The-N channel (now TeenNick) and has written for ABC, ESPN, Discovery Channel, and the National Basketball Association. He was a story analyst for Jim Henson Pictures and has taught story and pitching seminars at Dreamworks Animation, Twentieth Century Fox/Blue Sky Studios, and Aardman Animations. He teaches screenwriting at Stanford University.
