Join us to celebrate three new books (Boy Robot, The Diabolic, Ever the Hunted) from three fabulous new voices in YA literature.
Simon Curtis was diagnosed with leukemia at age ten and began performing in musical theater and opera that same year. He was the happiest bald, chemotherapy-addled cancer patient ever seen on the stage. After various roles on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, Simon left acting to pursue music, releasing his first album, 8bit Heart, as a free download, followed by his second album, RA, which landed at number twenty on Billboards Dance & Electronic Albums chart. Above all else, he strives to inspire hope in young people. Ernest Cline, bestselling author of Ready Player One says "Simon Curtiss first novel is infused with intelligence and empathy. Boy Robot is a propulsive, action-packed tale that explores what it means to be human. S.J. Kincaid originally wanted to be an astronaut, but a dearth of mathematical skills turned her interest to science fiction instead. Her debut novel, Insignia, was shortlisted for the Waterstones prize. Its sequels, Vortex and Catalyst, received starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews and Booklist. According to Shelf Awareness, The Diabolic, "Sings with intrigue...With unpredictable twists and mounting suspense, The Diabolic is a breathless journey into the very center of what it means to be human." Erin Summerill became a professional photographer while crafting manuscript after manuscript. The scenic detour of shooting weddings both nationally and internationally provided world-building inspiration and gave her the vision to draft her debut YA fantasy, EVER THE HUNTED. "With a resourceful and cunning heroine, a compelling and nuanced romance, and a truly fascinating system of magic, Ever the Hunted ensnared me from the very first pages. Absolutely marvelous."Sarah J. Maas, New York Times-bestselling author of the Throne of Glass books
This panel will be moderated by Evelyn Skye, author of the New York Times bestselling The Crowns Game
