TFN - Online Improv Show - LA
T.F.N. presents The Online Improv Show. The only live skype improv show in the country hooking up two casts in two cities via the Internet. Audiences in San Francisco and Los Angeles come together to suggest, witness and been seen with fellow Californians 400 miles away. The Online Intenet show is your good old fashion short form improv mixed with some online connection and tech magic. Hard to imagine. Must be seen.
"Quirky" , "Really funny" with "Sparks of brilliance" and "An intriguing idea with loads of potential." - LA Weekly
âTILTED FRAME stretches the boundaries of traditional improvisation⦠They drop the facile and forced wackiness of comedy club improv for a far more daring and difficult form." - SF Guardian
âThe talented cast takes suggestions from the audience and riffs, improv style, but with a technological twist. With video and computer screens, they maneuver in and out of the stage (you have to see it live to get the full effect). There are a few glitches here and there (and kudos for being able to coordinate dialogue while manipulating media), but the actors use each mistake to their advantage, joyfully pointing them out, in fact, and gaining our respect. It is obvious they are all having the time of their lives.â -Kate West Reviews
Tilted Frame Network (TFN), the only live improv show in the country which hooks up two casts in two cities via the Internet returns to Los Angeles and San Francisco. TFN entreats audiences in both cities to participate in shaping the Network's new "season" (short-form improv games based on TV, Film and Internet). In the first half of the show, audience members are treated as producers and writers and asked for suggestions to shape the shows they'll see that night. Once everyone is accustomed to Tilted Frame's signature techno improv format, Tilted Frame Network takes the show to the next level with long form improv and more audience involvement on and off stage as both cities Jam online.
Started during the dot com revolution, Tilted Frame has been pushing the envelope of multi-media production for more than seven years. Opening with Taste Like Random in the summer of 2002, Tilted Frame used video and the Internet in a way no other company had before. Now, with troupes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Tilted Frame has further experimented with and expanded the format of the show to premiere the first-ever, recurring, cross-state performance in theater.
