Windy Peak
Take a break from the busy days of Christmas and enjoy a casual Sunday afternoon concert as we welcome back Windy Peak; a group that is truly in a league of its own. Versatile pianist Deborah Schmit-Lobis, multi talented violinist Adam Gablum, Rick Pruitt, guitar/bass and Phil Norman on cello make up the latest rendition of Windy Peak. These musicians all come from a Classical background but also enjoy Folk, Jazz, Flamenco and everything in between. This culminates in a wonderful blend of styles, especially at Christmas! You'll hear a blend of Vivaldi, Faure and Old English tunes to familiar holiday favorites like Silver Bells, Winter Wonderland and Chestnuts Roasting. With fun being the uniting element, they blend the beautiful and moving music of the season with Christmas Pops and Swing. Adam Galblum is a mutli-instrumentalist based in Denver and Kansas City, MO. He is currently making a record of string band arrangements of the recent music of John Mayer. Deborah Schmit-Lobis is one of the most versatile pianists in the region. Also a composer and arranger, she bridges the gap between Classical and other styles seamlessly. She has toured with Andrea Bocelli and performed with Pavarotti as well as playing Rock and Roll in the National tour of Boys from Beatlemania. Rick Pruitt is a guitarist and bass player who performs flamenco, jazz and blues. He currently performs as a soloist and with many groups including Rene Heredia's Flamenco Dance Theater, the CMA Jazz Ensemble and the Aristocats. He has a teaching studio in Lafayette, CO. Phil Norman, cello is a performer dedicated to redefining cello playing. Phil draws from diverse influences to create eclectic original compositions. He is an active performer in the Front Range and nationally.
