Idiots and Angels is a dark comedy about a mans battle for his soul. Angel is a selfish, abusive, morally bankrupt man who hangs out as his local bar, berating the other patrons. One day, Angel mysteriously wakes up with a pair of wings on his back. The wings make him do good deeds, contrary to his nature. He desperately tries to rid himself of the good wings, but eventually finds himself fighting those who view the wings as their ticket to fame and fortune.
Bill Plymptons unique animation style and off-beat sense of humor have earned him acclaim and awards all around the globe. In todays cinema dominated by computer-generated imagery, Bill personally draws and colors each film still by hand, as many as 30,000 for a feature-length film. 2010 marks his 25 years in animation.
Bill Plympton has been nominated twice for an Academy Award; Your Face (1987) and Guard Dog (2004), and twice for the Palme dOr at the Cannes Film Festival (Push Comes to Shove, 1991; Your Face, 1987). Awards include the Jury Prize and Canal+ Award at the Cannes Film Festival (Push Comes to Shove, 1991; Eat, 2001). Feature credits include In Tune, Hair High, and Mutant Aliens; shorts, Guide Dog (2006) and Plymptoons (1990). Featuring a SNEAK PREVIEW!
