In Stunt Rock (1978) Legendary filmmaker Brian Trenchard-Smith sends Aussie stuntman Grant page to LA to work on a TV series. There he lends his expertise to rock band Sorcery, whose act features duels between the King of the Wizards and the prince of Darkness. Page helps the duo develop pyrotechnic magic tricks for their shows, and also finds himself in a budding romance with a magazine writer as he recounts his own exploits as a stuntman and daredevil.
We then move to the "future" of 2000 AD for Death Race 2000 (1975). The economically-struggling United Provinces of America is ruled under the total control of Mr. President (Sandy McCallum), who keeps a passive populace under control with a steady diet of violent sports and inane television. The yearly highlight of the sporting calendar is the annual Trans-Continental Road Race, a gruesome, no-holds-barred road race - and form of population control - where points are won by killing pedestrians, and the older, or more vulnerable the victims, the higher the points!
