Produced and MC'ed by comedian/comedy producer, Lisa Geduldig, (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy who strives to produce multicultural, multi-everything comedy shows with the variety of shows she produces each year (Kung Pao Kosher Comedy, Funny Girlz, The Color of Funny).
Geduldig created Comedy Returns to El Rio last year in honor of her beginning her stand up career at the club, El Rio, in San Francisco's Mission District 21 years ago.
Comedy Returns to El Rio takes place the 2nd Monday of every month.
This month's show features: Dan St Paul, Joe Nguyen, Natasha Muse, Tina Allen, and Lisa Geduldig DAN ST PAUL, after a 7-year stint headlining SF clubs in the comedy duo Murphy-St.Paul, launched out on his own with a solo act that landed him in the finals of The SF Comedy Competition. Having grown up in The Mission, Dan moved to LA and appeared on several episodes of An Evening at the Improv, numerous shows on VH-1, MTV, and Comedy Central. He has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Natalie Cole, Smokey Robinson, and others. A lot of Dan's material comes from being a suburban husband and father.
JOE NGUYEN, growing up in Georgia as the child of a Vietnamese refugee father and a Jewish mother, was destined to be a comedian. After attending Pomona College in Southern California, he moved to San Francisco and began performing stand up comedy. His smart writing, likeable stage presence, and broad range of joke topics make Joe a crowd favorite, appealing to audiences of all backgrounds. Joe is the producer and co-host of Scantily Clad Comedy, a weekly showcase at the Clubhouse in San Francisco every Friday night at 9pm. www.vietjew.com
NATASHA MUSE is pretty funny for a comedian. She started performing over 8 years ago as "Ginger" at AsiaSF. Over the past two years she has moved from lip-synching into stand up comedy, the second biggest transition in her life. Since that time she's begun to become to be known as the second-funniest transsexual you know.
TINA ALLEN's comedy covers a wide array of topics from dating, family, kids, skiing, being a teacher, growing up Catholic in today's world, to getting older. Growing up in an Italian/Irish/Catholic family that migrated to California from New Jersey allowed Tina to develop a strong personality while acquiring a ton of comedic material. Join her as she discusses life as an only child and being a tall female with a deep voice trying to find Mr. Right. She recently opened for Roseanne Barr.
LISA GEDULDIG is the creator, producer, & MC of a variety of annual comedy shows: Kung Pao Kosher Comedy; The George Bush Going Away Party; Funny Girlz; A Muslim, A Mormon, and A Jew Walk into A Bar; The Color of Funny; Comedy Returns to El; Rio, Cafe con Comedy; Charo.
