Where's the beef? Fleisher's Beef Butchery 101
Join us for an inside look at the art of craft butchery! Here is what you can expect from our Beef Butchery 101 class at the Fleisher's whole animal breaking facility.
Beef carving demo by our skilled butchers reviewing the basic anatomy of a steer.
Lectures on humanely raised meat and ethical slaughter practices.
We'll also review grilling and smoking techniques to set you up for summer, and get you familiar with lesser known cuts of beef to maximize value when shopping for meat in our stores.
After class we'll chow down on some beef prepared by our culinary team and wash it down with Sixpoint brews and other refreshments.
We request that all attendees wear closed-toe shoes, a hat and clothes you don't mind getting meaty.

Directions: Public Transportation - F/G trains to Smith & 9th street. Exit station and take B61 towards Ikea. Get off at Van Dyke & Van Brunt St. Walk 1.5 blocks with traffic along Van Dyke St. Left side of street you'll see signs for "Liberty Warehouse" or the Red Hook Winery. We are located in that building on the pier in Unit 323. Enter through south side or ring the bell on the north side.
Or take any train to Borough Hall. Walk to Boerum Place and take B61 to Ikea. Get off on Van Brunt between Coffey St & Van Dyke St.
By Car: Take the BQE to Hamilton Ave. Follow signs for Ikea. Continue down Beard St. At Beard St & Conover take the driveway to Liberty Warehouse and park in the parking lot.
Or take Van Brunt into Red Hook. Make right turn at Beard St. Follow directions above.
