Active in both the jazz and classical music worlds, pianist Moira Lo Bianco grew up playing the folk music of her native Calabria, Italy and fell in love with Bach, Bartok & jazz. Among many other accomplishments, she has scored films, has performed for legendary Newport Jazz Festival impresario George Wein and teaches improvisation for classical musicians.
This evening will draw on her diverse musical inspirations, beginning with a set of Erik Satie compositions and ending with a set of original music.
