The World by Bicycle - 12 mph Politics
12 mph politics - The world by Bicycle
Cycling is a metaphor for a way of life.
It encapsulates freedom, solidarity, vulnerability, effort, simplicity and equality. But all of these can also be turned into the hyperbole, gigantism & manipulation of big-sponsor adventure. Through 'Life Cycles' Julian Sayarer comments on the world he circumnavigated at a record-breaking 12mph.
Come to an evening of readings from 'Life Cycles' and discussion around the themes of globalisation, hospitality, adventure and hope.
Discussion will be chaired by:
Katharine Hibbert
Author of 'FREE: Adventures on the Margins of a Wasteful Society' (Ebury, 2010), and founder of social enterprise Dot Dot Dot.
