2015 Bluegrass Series with Red Dog Ash and AJ Lee
Red Dog Ash is an award-winning bluegrass band from California's central valley. The quintet is known for its original compositions, hard-driving tunes, tight harmonies, and authentic high-lonesome vocals. Inspired by the bluegrass tradition, smart and passionate in its performance, the band's unique sound has recently and aptly been calledSoulgrass.

When Aj Lee was 11, she and her former band mate Max Schwartz were asked to be part of the revision for the Discover Bluegrass DVD that is circulated by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA).  This Exploring American Roots Music project was developed for educational uses in public/private schools, home schooling families, libraries and for music associations.

By the time AJ (Aissa phonetically 'eye-ee-saa') was 12, she was actively involved in 2 working bands in the California bluegrass scene. Her hard work with these bands eventually brought her honored awards from the members of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. She was voted female vocalist for three years running (2010, 2011 & 2013). The NCBS again voted her Best Female Vocalist for this year 2014!

Since 2005, AJ's been invited to share the Fanfest stage at the IBMA's World of Music event.

Presently at 16, AJ continues to perform with the Tuttle Family Band of Palo Alto, CA.

Californiality, #1 California News Blog, writes, "Wherever AJ Lee performs, audiences are shocked by her supermodel looks, her technically perfect vocals, and her mature onstage professionalism. I, too, was completely blown away by the talented young singer." (Mark Lorier)
