Topic: Airflow Measurement & Minimum Ventilation Rate Control
Abstract: With the ever-increasing responsibility for design engineers to provide HVAC systems that provide comfort and a healthy work environment, greater attention is being directed to maintaining proper minimum outdoor air (MOA) ventilation rates. This presentation was developed to discuss the various methods being used to measure and quantify MOA ventilation rate, typical applications and locations for OA measurement, as well as the requirement for OA measurement when implementing demand control ventilation (DCV) control strategies for densely populated spaces.
Speaker Bio: Mr. Dennis Reis is one of the founders of Paragon Controls Incorporated, Santa Rosa, California. Dennis' primary responsibilities are the sales and marketing of airflow and pressure measurement instrumentation. Since 1974 he has been involved with the design, construction, start-up, and commissioning of airflow measurement and control systems. Dennis' application and commissioning experience ranges in complexity from airflow/pressure control systems used within nuclear power plant facilities to those used for variable air volume control on commercial HVAC systems. Dennis served on the committee that developed ANSI/AMCA Standard 610 "Laboratory Methods of Testing Airflow Measurement Stations for Performance Rating."
