8pm in the Muriel Schulman Theater
Dancer/choreographer Vangeline continues to carry the art of Butoh into the 21st Century with the New York premiere of "WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE". In this new Butoh fantasy, Vangeline Theater will dance in a set made of used coffee cups to illustrate how much non-recyclable waste our society generates. Audiences are invited to buy reusable cups and commit to being part of a positive change for our community.
This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
