Show the Love - A Community Arts and Culture Fundraiser
A musical fundraising event for all ages during Gallery Night in the Design Destrict to help raise funds for its 2010 season. Due to the current situation in Haiti, the organization will donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Red Cross Haitian Relief Fund. This event will feature Haitian artist Jan Sebon and Kazak International, and Vodou Lakay, whose members have suffered great losses in Haiti. Also scheduled to perform is Elastic Bond, the Nag Champayons featuring Philbert Armenteros, Kronos, and Sonya Feldman. Special guests include Johnny Aguilo and Rolando Perez of Conjunto Progreso, Itagui and Mark Kondrat from Locos por Juana, El Chino Dreadlion, Balifonist Ibrahima Dioubate of Delou West African Dance Ensemble, Congolese guitarist Toto Omana, and more T.B.A.. Be the first to hear DJ Le Spam will be on hand to unveil a new song written for Haiti featuring some of Miamis top Haitian and Latin artists. He will also be spinning classic songs from the different eras of Haitian Music throughout the evening. There will also be a silent auction featuring items from various artists such as a Krelwear to go customized piece by fashion designer Karelle Levy (www.krelwear.com), Painted Jewelry by Artist Eva Ruiz (www.evaruizart.com), a Marsh guitar amp by local guitar amp guru Mike Marsh (www.marshamps.com), and much more. Price includes open bar, food buffet, and CAC drop card for downloading music off our website. There will also be a silent auction.
