CityShakes Presents Shakespeare's 'Twelfth Night'
Shipwrecked in The Hamptons - her twin brother drowned - Viola dresses up as a man to get a job serving the richest guy in town. Foolproof plan, right? Right...Until her twin shows up, not so drowned after all. Mistaken identities, love triangles, and wild hilarity ensue, all accompanied by live music.
Our space:
The CityShakes Studio experience is truly unique. Join us in our early-twentieth-century, warehouse space, with exposed brick, wooden rafters, and intimate bench-style seating for the clearest, most entertaining Shakespeare in Los Angeles.
Where we are:
The CityShakes Studio is located in the heart of downtown Santa Monica, at Lincoln Blvd. and Broadway.
Our box office is inside ModShop furniture store (1454 Lincoln Blvd. | Santa Monica).
What to Wear:
The space is very connected to the climate: it gets hot in the summer, and cold in the winter. Dress accordingly!
What to Bring:
Some of our patrons like to bring thin cushions (a la Dodgers Stadium) to cushion their bums against the hard-wood benches. We do NOT offer cushions for purchase or rental at the theater.
Where to park:
Leave time to park! Santa Monica is a hoppin' place, and CityShakes' events are popular.
Metered street parking is available on nearby streets, some of which is free after 6pm and all day Sundays.
Can't find street parking? There are also many affordable parking garages. We recommend parking in the garage at the Santa Monica Public Library. The garage entrance is located on 7th St. between Santa Monica Blvd. and Arizona. Please be aware that the garage closes at 11pm! Click here for a map.

Are your shows family-friendly?
This production contains sexual innuendo, references to marijuana use, and depictions of heavy drinking. We welcome patrons of all ages, but parental discretion is advised for children under 13.
Are pets allowed?
No pets, please - service animals excepted.
Are the seats reserved?
All tickets are general admission. A ticket guarantees your admission, but does not assign you a particular seat. Our theater is bench-style seating, so you will need to cozy up to your fellow audience members!
When should I arrive?
Please leave time to park, and arrive at the theater at least 15 minutes before showtime. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Unclaimed tickets may be given to those on the wait list 10 minutes before showtime. And the house opens 5 minutes before showtime. PLEASE NOTE: due to the intimate nature of this space, there is NO LATE SEATING. If for some reason you miss the start of the show, we will be happy to exchange your tickets for another performance date at no charge. Please call 310-657-8739.
Do you sell concessions?
We offer water and wine for a suggested donation. There is a Starbucks across the street, and many bars and restaurants within a block from the theater.
