The Wizard of Oz

On Saturday, December 27 at 7 pm, we close out 2014 with a screening of one of the most iconic films ever made, "The Wizard of Oz".

Produced by MGM and directed by Victor Fleming, the film stars Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr, Frank Morgan, Billie Burke and Margaret Hamilton to name a few. Notable for its use of Technicolor, fantasy storytelling, musical score and unusual characters, over the years it has become one of the best known of all films and part of our popular culture.

Dorothy (Judy Garland) and her dog Toto are caught in a tornado's path and somehow end up in the land of Oz. Here she meets some memorable friends and foes in her journey to meet the Wizard of Oz who everyone says can help her return home and possibly grant her new friends their goals of a brain, heart and courage. Celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year, "The Wizard of Oz" is sure to captivate you all over again!

Tickets are $5.00 per person and available online, at Seastrand (919 Linden Ave., by cash or check only) and at the theater box office a half hour prior to show time. Our movie screens at 7 pm and has a run time of 102 minutes.
