Event
Flutronix
Nathalie Joachim and Allison Loggins-Hull are Flutronix, a pair of fresh and eclectic flutists who are paving the way from their classical roots to the future of music. Performing the works of notable pioneers of new music along side their own creations, Flutronix displays an innovative combination of flute and mixed media elements. Their original compositions comfortably navigate daring forms of popular, experimental, and contemporary classical music while implementing video, electronics, and digital effects. The duo pays tribute to groundbreaking work by exposing audiences to composers who have contributed to new bodies of literature that expand the language of the flute.
Nathalie Joachim and Allison Loggins, graduates of the Juilliard School and SUNY Purchase, respectively, have been featured internationally and performed at Carnegie Hall, The Knitting Factory, Alice Tully Hall and Galapagos ArtSpace and their work has been featured on Fox and NPR, including other outlets. The show will include new original work for flute and electronics composed by the duo. Joachim received an MA from the New School in media and sound studies with a focus on audio production, film scoring, and music editing for film. Loggins-Hull continues her MA studies at NYU in composition focusing on electro-acoustic styles, production and scoring for multi-media.
This evening's concert will feature original works by the duo and Steve Reich.
