Sal Baglio and The Beauty and Disturbance Orchestra
Boston band The Stompers just celebrated their 32nd anniversary, and the name Sal Baglio is synonymous with their musical legacy and roof raising rock and roll.
But with the Beauty and Disturbance Orchestra, Sal ventures into a different place musically, lyrically and spiritually than he was when he was 19 years old writing for The Stompers. Sal says "I still see, hear and carry the lineage in my music that has been within me all of my life. It's ageless, timeless, without borders, without rules, without genres and has a good beat that you can dance to." There won't be any Stompers music performed but what will be played is likely to broaden an already growing new audience to Sal's music and talents.
The band features Sal on guitar and vocals, The Stompers Steve Gilligan on bass, Clara Kebabian violin, Daniel Rowe on cello and Seth Pappas on percussion and glockenspiel.
We are honored to be aided and abetted by Ruby Bird and Billy Carl Mancini and the wonderfully brilliant Bird Mancini will be sharing this evening with us.
Proceeds benefit Right Turn, a substance abuse treatment facility founded by Del Fuegos' drummer Woody Giessmann. The show is at Right Turn in a 'sober coffeehouse' atmosphere...capacity is only 75, and at just $10 seats will sell quickly so the public is encouraged to buy early as tickets may not be available at the door.
