THE COVE
THE COVE follows a team of eco-activists, filmmakers and divers to Taiji, Japan as they secretly document a brutal annual ritual: hunters-at-sea herding thousands of migrating dolphins into a hidden cove, then either slaughtering the animals for their (mercury-tainted) meat or capturing them for sale to aquariums. Rolling Stone magazine describes THE COVE as "a thriller...with the breathless pace of a Bourne movie, but none of the comfort of fiction. Documentary filmmaking at its most exciting and purposeful."
Directed by Louie Psihoyos. 92 minutes. Rated PG-13 for disturbing content.
