Songwriters in the Round
Lisa Redfern brings three talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories. For this concert, Lisa invites Rupert Wates, Ronda Dale, and Ben Hunsberger to join her.
Lisa Redfern
Lisa is an award-winning singer-songwriter who just released her 10th solo recording (8th CD). This newest, "Once in a While", swings with 12 of Lisa's favorite jazz standards, accompanied by 6 piece jazz band. Lisa blends her roots in all forms of Americana and Roots music to create something unmistakably her own. For over 25 years, Lisa has brought joy and comfort to listeners of all ages. Rupert Wates
London born Rupert Wates came to the US in 2007. Is the winner of over 30 songwriting awards. Has released 6 solo albums. He averages 170 live shows a year, in America, Canada and Europe. Wates has been described as 'a prime figure in American music' by Folk and Acoustic Music Exchange. He is delighted to playing for you all and sharing a stage with Lisa, Ronda and Ben.
Ronda Dale
Ronda Dale is a Portland-based singer/songwriter, jazz vocalist and bass player. Her original songs are full of humor, depth and passion. She has been inspired by artists past and present from Patsy Cline, Dinah Washington and Willie Dixon to Gillian Welch, Tom Waits and Bonnie Raitt. Originally from central Virginia, Ronda has lived in beautiful southern coastal Maine for 15 years. rondadale.com
Ben Hunsberger
Blending a lifelong passion for music with his unique perspectives on life, love, politics, and nature, Ben's music is seasoned with flavors of Jackson Browne and The Beatles, and echoes of Brubeck and Mose Allison. Clear vocals backed by keyboard and guitar highlight his live performances. Ben is currently recording his next CD with Jud Caswell at Frog Hollow Studios stay tuned!
