Eddie Gale presents: z_Bug at Velma's Blues and Jazz Club, SF
Eddie Gale, an innovative American jazz composer/trumpeter best known for his work in free jazz, especially with the Sun Ra Arkestra. He has also made numerous appearances with the Oakland, CA hip-hop outfit The Coup, whereby Gale's trumpet could be heard engaging with the music's breakbeats and turntables. In the late 1990s Eddie Gale also held regular creative music workshops at the Black Dot Cafe a grassroots performance space in Oakland ran by artist/activist Marcel Diallo and his Black Dot Artists Collective. They have been collaborating on music of an electronic, improvisational, jazz style ever since, playing several live performances throughout the last five years. z_Bug's first performance was on 2006.02.15 and they landed in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA in late 2006.
