The Oakland Magic Circle Presents An Evening Of Magic, Wonder and Great Food!
Founded in 1925, the Oakland Magic Circle is one the largest and oldest groups of magicians in the country. Come join us for our 85th Annual Installation Banquet & Gala Show--An evening of magical entertainment and a fabulous dinner! (Your choice of Tri-tips of beef, Baked chicken breast or Salmon).
This year we are very proud to feature the magic of Tom Ogden! Mr. Ogden brings to the stage more than 30 years of professional performing, beginning when he ran away with the circus right after college. Before long he traded the circus ring for the stages of Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Lake Tahoe. He performed on NBC's "The World's Greatest Magic", and was twice voted "Magician Of The Year" by The Magic Castle in Hollywood. And he somehow found the time to write "The Complete Idiot's Guide To Street Magic". He's hysterically funny and his magic will truly amaze you.
But we're not stopping there! Next on the line-up is Dennis Forel. He's been performing professionally since 1975 and is America's foremost balloon sculptor (he calls his creations "inflatable happiness"). He's performed all around the world, including many state and county fairs in the U.S.
Next is Farrell Dillon, who combines sleight of hand, humor, juggling and escapes to create a truly amazing comedy magic show. He's a graduate of the Chavez Studio of Magic, the most prestigious magic school in the world. Mr. Dillon is quickly becoming one of the world's most sought after magical entertainers.
And last, but not least, is Dan Chan and his assistant/wife Kat. They won our 2009 Stage competition, and they'll captivate you with their smooth and elegant performing style. Mr. Chan is a graduate of the San Francisco Circus Center and they have performed all over the world.
The Master of Ceremonies is OMC President Scott Alcalay, who's performed at the famed Magic Castle, several county and state fairs and corporate events.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children (12 & under). The doors open at 6pm, dinner starts at 7pm, and the show starts at 8pm.If you're planning to attend both the dinner and the show then you must buy your tickets in advance, before Feb. 1st at 8AM, or before we sell 100 tickets (and right now we only have a few tickets left). A small number of show-only tickets will be available at the door for $20 each (all ages), and for these you must arrive 7:30pm-8pm.
Where else can you get so much live entertainment--and a great dinner--for the price of a few movie tickets?
