FESTIVUS FILM FEST: Rouge Ciel with music video Atro-City Sleepers
ROUGE CIEL tells the story of men and women who, devastated and shattered, succeeded nevertheless in rebuilding their lives thanks to artistic creation. The film shows the vital force present in Man, his capacity to escape nothingness. ROUGE CIEL attempts to capture from the inside what makes these particular artists function, what makes them âvibrateâ and shows their way of perceiving the world. The film invites us to travel inside their universe, at the heart of the âuncannyâ and tries to understand the reasons for which the works of art brut, apparently quite distant from us, echo in us with such intensity. ROUGE CIEL privileges sensibility over objective study, it is an expressionist film that attempts to convey its point of view through image and sound, using the techniques and codes offered by the cinema of today. The film works like a kaleidoscope, a fragmented structure restoring the colors, rhythms and forms taken by art brut; in ROUGE CIEL the portraits of each artist succeed each other in their entirety in order to give the audience time to capture the unique journeys of each creator, to feel the intensity of each work, its challenges and to enjoy the emotion that emerges.
