A Mozart Birthday Toast
Town Hall celebrates Mozart's birthday with an intimate concert featuring Byron Schenkman and Friends performing solo and chamber works. Schenkman's piano playing has been described in the New York Times as "sparkling" and "elegant," and he has been called a "first-class Mozartean" by Melinda Bargreen in The Seattle Times. He is joined by four outstanding chamber musicians: violinist James Garlick; violist Mara Gearman; cellist Benjamin Wolff; and pianist Rachel Matthews. Included on the program: Violin Sonata in C, K. 296; Variations on a theme of Salieri; and the Piano Quartet in E-flat, K. 493. It is a celebration, so the ticket price includes a sparkling beverage, chocolates, and a chance to win prizes (including Schenkmans not-yet-released CD of Mozart piano trios).
