Bellingham City Club Program November 19th
Join us on Wednesday, November 19th for a panel discussion on the consequences of the Nov. 4th election. Is there any hope of ending gridlock in Olympia and Washington, D.C.? What are the chances for fully funding our state's education system? Will we get a solid transportation package passed? At the national level, will we have another government shutdown, and what are the prospects for immigration reform and other headline issues?
We are very fortunate to have three politically astute panelists who will explore these questions and others brought into focus by the midterm election: Cathy Allen, President of The Connections Group, is well known to City Club members. She has run or consulted with more than 500 winning campaigns (75% women) from mayors to governors, from state legislators to the U.S. Congress. Bruce Boram, Principal at Laurus Associates, is a political and public affairs consultant with 25 years of political experience, initially with Congressman John Miller (R, WA). He has worked with the Washington State Republican party, the House and Senate Campaign Committees, and the Oregon House Republicans. Jerry Cornfield has been a reporter for The Daily Herald in Everett since 2004. He joined the Herald just in time for the historic gubernatorial contest between Chris Gregoire and Dino Rossi. Jerry is based in Olympia where his primary duty is to cover lawmakers and state government.
